We will gather.

"Thank you for your compassionate and deeply human wayof being.
I'll definitely be back!
I never knew I needed something like this
in my life until I experienced it today.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

How everything started...

Like many meaningful things, the Community Reading Circle began with a simple conversation.

It was Meghan's idea. She reached out to me and asked whether I would be interested in creating this project together. The invitation immediately resonated with something I had been longing for myself—a space where people could continue learning beyond workshops, where knowledge could be explored in community, and where meaningful conversations could deepen our understanding of ourselves and each other.

From this small seed, the vision of the Community Reading Circle began to grow.

Together, we created a space where curiosity is welcomed, different perspectives enrich one another, and learning becomes an embodied experience rather than simply an intellectual one. A space to slow down, reflect, ask questions, and discover how the ideas we read can gently shape the way we live, relate, and accompany others.

We are grateful to be nurturing this community together and look forward to welcoming everyone who feels inspired to learn, connect, and grow alongside us.

About Meghan

I am honored and pleased to be part of this offering and contributing to the space of The Sanctuary, which really has become one for me throughout healing from autistic and occupational burnout and complex PTSD. As a late-diagnosed autistic person, the somatic approach to healing has been incredibly supportive in my unmasking process and as a somatic coach in training, I am hoping to support folx in their own homecoming into their bodies.

Throughout the multi-colored patchwork that is my professional career, the common thread has been the facilitation of processes, whether as a union organizer, an assistant in TCM practices, or a data librarian. As a facilitator, I try to make it easier for folx to find and walk their own paths while providing gentle structure and guidance. Originally from the US, I have been living in German-speaking Europe for 10 years and facilitate in English and German or a mix thereof.

I am excited to put this all into practice and co-create this special learning space with Barbara and the participants. I can’t wait to combine my loves of reading and learning with movement and community, making the educational space that perhaps many of us have always wanted and needed.

About Barbara

sophienawratil_beintouch_272_edited.png

I am Barbara Walkowiak, founder of BE IN TOUCH and The Sanctuary in Vienna, a space dedicated to healing, embodiment, connection, and personal growth. As a Somatic Coach specializing in trauma and a trauma-sensitive Hatha Yoga teacher, my work is rooted in the belief that healing is not only something we understand intellectually, but something we can experience and integrate through the body.

Over the years, I have been deeply inspired by the fields of somatics, trauma, nervous system regulation, yoga, and embodied learning, and I love creating spaces where people can slow down, become curious, and explore these themes together. The Sanctuary grew from this vision: to create a place where different approaches, people, and perspectives can meet in a safe and nourishing community.

Together with Meghan, I am excited to host the Community Reading Circle from this autumn—a space where we can read, reflect, discuss, move, and learn together, bringing knowledge out of books and into our lived experience.
