Women*Retreat
2024
Some Impressions of this year's Women* Retreat @Wildalpen Austria
Why do we retreat in a circle of women?
Women meeting in a circle (extends to all female-identifying and non-binary beings), comes from an ancient tradition that has been lived and practiced in various ways across cultures and religions since the beginning of time.
A Women's Circle is a space, where women come together and sit in a sacred Circle created with the intention of making Women feel seen, safe, heard, held and witnessed on their journey through life.
A sacred space free of judgement, competition, expectation, pressure or noise. A sacred space void of the demands from the outside world, a space just for us, to go inwards, to reconnect, to return home. A refuge for the spirit of the feminine.
In the ancient days, the bleed was a marker for women to retreat. They would leave their villages, to commune in a hut all together, leaving their day-to-day lives, their families and their usual responsibilities behind. These spaces were created in order for women to rest, support one another and to be given the space to go inward. For it was believed that Women were at their most powerful during this time.
However, these spaces were community spaces, where Women could gather and put the world to rights. It was believed that Women carry a deep connection with nature and wisdom of healing within, as they live in alignment with both nature and the nature within them.
I believe that at some point in our lives, we are all called to leave what we know, in search of a deeper journey that calls us. It's on us to create time and space for this journey.
This is the intention of the Women Winter Retreat: A safe space, time for yourself, for your needs and wishes, time to breath, time for reconnection, restoring and healing.
We will gather, because we were not meant to do life alone.
WE WILL GATHER FOR OUR NEXT WOMEN RETREAT IN MAY 2025
What is a Women*Retreat?
In a women* retreat, you will join a circle of women to connect with your natural rhythms, your deepest wisdom and your innate knowing. We go into our natural cycle through movement, meditation and being in nature. Just like flowers and green leaves growing in the sunshine and fresh spring air: a time of growth and change, filled with waves of new energy.
We will retreat for 4 days for reconnection, rest and healing. We will be a small group of Women, leaving the busyness of the city and our everyday responsibilities behind, spending our time in a circle of Women in the middle of nature.
You will find peace of mind and rest through nature, a very special community of like-minded people and simple days without any obligation. Silence will create the needed space and time for yourself.
Our days without internet and telephone, practicing Yoga and Meditation, as well as the nourishing Women Circles will be your treatment. You will find peace and recovery amidst others.
Silence, Nature and Circles are sources of true healing.

The healing place.
The chalet is a newly built house in the forests of Wildalpen in Styria. The house and the whole area is located in a Nature Resort, that invites you to come into silence and peace. The place is a place to be.
The chalet offers 4 sleeping rooms with 2-6 beds, a beautiful bathroom and common area. Most of the interior is made of natural materials.
It has 2 floors. The entrance floor with a spacious kitchen/living room area with an open fire place. On the first floor there is the sleeping area underneath the roof, as well as the resting area. We will practice Yoga and Meditation downstairs next to the fire.
This place of peace and harmony supports you in its very special way on your spiritual and personal journey. The beautiful nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the chalet cause a feeling of coming home and thus create the perfect framework to fully engage with yourself.

I love to retreat myself to immerse into silence. And I fell in love with gathering among Women in Circles. Being part of a group, while somebody is holding the space is a beautiful gift for the health of our global community. In a retreat we can fully drop all efforts, slowly entering a very simple, pure and "effortless" state of being. For me it always feels like coming home, to a place within where I can clearly see and feel what is essential in life. This is my motivation to provide and hold the space for you during these days.
