Nestled in the serene, snow-covered landscapes of Austria, I invite you to join us in a winter sanctuary of stillness, rest, and healing. Whether it’s your first time or a returning experience, the untouched beauty of the mountains and ancient forests offers a profound reconnection with your true essence. This tranquil setting will be the backdrop for a deeply transformative journey.
We will begin and end our days quietly, giving you space to gently center yourself. Over the course of the retreat, we will observe three full days of silence, allowing you to truly rest, digest, and reconnect with your inner self. It’s a time to slow down, breathe deeply, and release the distractions of everyday life.

Hello, I am Barbara, the founder of BE IN TOUCH.
I am a professional Somatic Coach, trained in the Grinberg Method, Hatha Yoga, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Pre- and Postnatal Yoga, Reiki, Ayurveda, as well as a professional Educational Scientist.
I am currently under the guidance of my dear teachers Prasad Rangnekar (Hatha Yoga), Doug Keller (Yoga Therapy), Joachim Pfahl (Trauma Sensitive Yoga), The team of the embody lab (including Peter Levin, Staci K. Hains, Dr. Rae Johnson, and Trista Zinn (Hypopressives Canada).
I love to retreat myself to immerse into silence. Being part of a group, while somebody is holding the space is a beautiful gift for the health of our global community. In a retreat we can fully drop all efforts, slowly entering a very simple, pure and "effortless" state of being. For me it always feels like coming home, to a place within where I can clearly see and feel what is essential in life. This is my motivation to provide and hold the space for you during these days.

The breath is the key.
Meditation and Yoga go together very well: Yoga offers a wonderful way to introduce you to being mindful and aware of your body, breath and mind. Meditation calms your body and mind and balances the soul. It is a concentration technique that can be learned by anyone, as you only need your breath and youself.
Meditation enables you to arrive in the here and now. This has the effect that your own thought pauses will be expanded. Your restless mind become slower or stops for a certain time. While following your breath with your attention, your head will feel emptier and freer again.
Both ancient techniques, Yoga and meditation, are beneficial for the whole body-mind-complex. The Silence Retreat has the capacity to create a "needed break" from your daily life and thought pattern. It also allows you to recharge energy and joy, while spending some days for yourself, within a "save space". You give time to what needs time, now.
I invite you to put yourself and your needs in the first place and to bring patience, interest and a relaxed persistence. With each breath and with each step you can re-connect and rest again.

The healing place.
The chalet is a newly renovated 300 years old mountain farmers-house in the lower alps in Styria, surrounded by forests and meadows. The house and the whole area nearby are ancient power places, that invite you to come into silence and peace. The place is a place to be.
The chalet offers 5 rooms with 2-4 beds including their separate bathroom and toilet. The whole interior is made of natural materials. Even the new roof and Seminar-Room was built out of the families own wood from their forests.
It has 3 floors. The entrance floor with its cosy kitchen and dining area, next to the oven, which we fire with wood. What a lovely smell and energy. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and on top is another bedroom as well as the Yoga and Meditation Room.
This place of peace and harmony supports in its very special way each individual on his/her spiritual and personal journey. The beautiful nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the chalet cause a feeling of coming home and thus create the perfect framework to fully engage with yourself.
