Welcome to Healing Yoga.

Yoga was created as a science of liberation, but in modern times it is used by many to improve physical and mental health, helping us become more productive at work, more caring in relationships, more responsible contributors to society, and better inhabitants of this planet. If Yoga does accomplish all that, how exactly does it work?

Let's practice.

Meditation, Yoga, Nature

Yoga as a path.

Through the practice of yoga and mindful breathing, we cleanse the body from within while simultaneously strengthening muscles, bones, internal organs, the nervous system, and the mind. Yoga is, above all, a daily practice. Ancient yogis believed that yoga should be approached with the same consistency and importance as brushing our teeth each day.

A little practice goes a long way. With regular practice, we cultivate a calm awareness that offers perspective and the ability to pause, preventing us from being overwhelmed by intense emotions. Developing this inner insight is the true goal of yoga.

The ability to persevere through challenges with a calm mind is a fundamental principle of yoga practice. Gradual mastery leads to an ease of effort. According to Patanjali, one of the key benefits of practicing postures is that it enables us to navigate life’s ups and downs with resilience and equanimity.

Through postures, breathing, and focused attention, yoga effectively balances brain function and the nervous system. It provides essential support to the brain, helping to restore homeostatic functions that regulate blood pressure. By balancing stress levels—particularly through breath control—yoga helps down-regulate the brain and endocrine system, reducing the release of stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol.

While yoga is not a cure-all for every condition, it serves as a powerful tool for restoring balance within the brain, nervous system, and cellular mechanisms. It helps realign functions that may be out of balance, guiding the body back toward its natural state of harmony. The body is inherently intelligent and knows what it needs to heal. Even when facing health challenges unrelated to lifestyle, diet, or habits, yoga and mindful living can support the body’s innate healing abilities.

In essence, yoga enhances your body’s self-regulation.

The studio space.

The Sanctuary is a tranquil retreat situated above the rooftops of Vienna, centrally located near the Volksoper. Additionally, Meditationsraum B.R.O.T. offers a serene ground-level space with wooden flooring and a calming atmosphere in Seestadt.

Both locations are designed to accommodate small groups of 5 to 18 people, allowing for personalized guidance and attention. This intimate setting reflects the traditional approach to yoga, emphasizing direct instruction from teacher to student.

Recognizing that each individual has unique needs, my settings provide the ideal environment for practicing yoga safely and with sensitivity to trauma. This approach allows you to deeply engage with and understand the profound holistic system of yoga.

I am delighted to welcome you to my peaceful spaces.
